Sailing trips Canary Islands, Madeira and Azores
After sailing for many years to the north, "the Pride" goes from the beginning of August 2019 to the south! Sail to the English south coast, channel islands, the Spanish Ria's, the Portuguese Atlantic coast and the Canary Islands. The total trip to the Canary Islands will take about a week or 10. You can sail along 1,2 or more routes. From the end of October 2019 until March 2020, sailing trips around the Canary Islands are on the program. The Canary Islands, an archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, is an ideal area for a fantastic sailing holiday. A wonderful subtropical climate and beautiful islands. Just escape the winter and exchange for a sailing holiday in an area with crystal clear water between varied islands with lots of varied nature and culture. From April 2020, the course is set to Madeira and the Azores. The following journeys can be booked individually or with a group of up to 6 people. Vlissingen-England- Channel Islands €.1350,-
Vlissingen is the starting point of this sailing trip. The next day we set course for the English coast. From the Isle of Wight we set course towards the French coast. The Channel Islands are a wonderful holiday destination but also a sailing area with attractive ports anchor bends and large tidal differences. Enjoying the mix of English and French influences on the islands of Sark, Alderney, Herm, Jersey and Guernsey. A sailing area with beautiful coasts and picturesque harbors. This journey ends in Brest.

From Brest, the Bay of Biscay lies before us. If the weather is good, we sail a day or 4 before the Spanish coast will loom. A unique experience to slowly leave the North Sea and sail up the Atlantic Ocean. The Torre de Hercules, the oldest working lighthouse in the world will welcome us in La Carunja. This coast of Galicia is known for the Rias. The estuaries have a lot of nature and culture to offer and this beautiful area we can explore with our sailing ship.

Vigo- Porto- Lisbon €.1150,-
There are nice places in the Rio Vigo before we leave the coast of Galicia behind us. We sail across the border to Portugal. This Atlantic coast has a number of beautiful cities such as Porto and Lisbon but also many small fishing villages. Usually there is a northern wind here and we can sail nice distances to the south. We eventually sail up the river Tagus to explore Lisbon.

From Lisbon it is a few days sailing to Cape St. Vincent. The Algarve is a coastal area with attractive harbors but also with an overwhelming nature. Unique bays where the beach is surrounded by beautiful rock formations and where we can find a nice place to anchor. Besides the tourist spots with cozy cafes there are also plenty of places where we can enjoy turquoise water where we can swim or snorkel. This sailing trip stops in Albufeira.

The Algarve leaves a lasting impression as we head for the Canary Islands. We will slowly pick up the north-east trade. We will be at sea for about 4 days and will notice that we are slowly entering a subtropical climate. On the way we are more and more likely to see dolphins and whales. Lanzarote will be the first island where we will land after our adventurous sailing trip. If there is enough time we can add the islands of La Graciosa and Fuerteventura to the logbook before we say goodbye in Lanzerote.

A varied sailing trip along the eastern Canary Islands. Lanzerote with cozy harbor towns with entertainment but also extensive red-colored volcanic landscapes, and black lava rims. The small island of Isla de los Lobos, with its unique fauna and flora, is a nice stopover towards Fuerteventura with a beautiful coast: white sandy beaches and dunes contrast with the clear blue sea. La Graciosa is an island without asphalt and wonderful for walking or to see the island with a mountain bike. Departure and arrival of this trip is Lanzerote.

This adventurous sailing trip goes from the Canary Islands to Madeira. Depending on the weather we can call in some ports before leaving the Canary Islands for a crossing of 300 nautical miles. The water is crystal clear and three days at sea with perhaps whales and dolphins and in the night a beautiful starry sky make this crossing an impressive experience. When the weather is fine we can anchor at the Ilhas Desertas, a deserted archipelago with a unique animal life. Madeira, the flower island, is in spring mood and has several harbors and beautiful anchor bays. We can walk or rent a bicycle or car to explore the inland. If we have time, the island of Porto Santo is a beautiful destination before we say goodbye to the port of Machico not from the airport of Madeira.

This adventurous journey starts with a crossing of 5oo nautical miles to the Northwest towards Santa Maria. This small island has unique flora and beautiful beaches. Sao Miguel is the next island.and has a lot to offer. From Ponta Delgada we can explore this beautiful island by car. The island of Pico with the highest mountain is impressive and known for the many species of whales that are spotted around it. Horta, Sao Jorge, and Graciosa are close together and well worth a visit. Terceira with the capital Angra is world heritage and will certainly be visited before we say goodbye in Praia da Vitoria.

All the above prices are in Euros and are per person, and including port fees, coffee / tea costs and good meals provided by skipper / cook Eric on board the sailing ship the Pride. Drinks and the round trip to the pick-up and drop-off point are not included in the price. You can book individually. For abovementioned periods you can also charter the entire ship with a maximum of 6 Persons. Sailing experience is not necessary.
